Re: ServiceNow and Mantis

I think the answer to all such questions of "can Mantis interface with X?" is YES. The challenge is find and motivate people to become familiar with both sides of the equation, and then to develop the bridge between them. This is true for SalesForce, ServiceNow, Twilio, GitHub, QuickBooks,...

Re: (semi) automatic checking for plugin updates.

I haven't tried it yet but I think it's awesome that you moved directly from identifying a problem to a solution using the tools available. Did I saw awesome? I meant AWESOME! I really hope more people see this as inspiration to create plugins that do what they want ... then share with everyone else...

Re: Simple Checkbox custom field

Yeah, we're now using yes/no radio buttons with the default=no. Good suggestion. Thanks. :)

Which source for new installation?

v0.10.1 is a bit stale now. Many changes have been made to the "master" GitHub repo. If there were a "dev" branch then it would be obvious that we should not load that branch to a live site. With everything committed to "master" the state of confidence in stability is n...

Simple Checkbox custom field

Looking back through this forum I can't find a single example for how to make a simple checkbox custom field work. It's been noted that it's weird and that there may be bugs. I'm hoping someone can provide a solid example of how to make a simple checkbox work. Example: Yes/No, True/False, 1/0 Or mor...

Re: Mantis on Android

(Correcting subject: Mantis on AndroiD) Mantis is Free and Open Source. There is no "official" Android or iOS project. Which apps are you talking about? Any mobile app that uses Mantis data is a completely separate software project by individuals. I found two Mantis apps in the Google Play...

Re: Mantis and Wordpress on one only Database

I run Mantis and WordPress together a lot.I know what you're talking about with the prefixes, and I believe that the two applications can co-exist without conflict. However, I choose to separate the databases. An attack on one can compromise the other. Information posted to one would not be in the o...

Re: 2702 warning on line 227

I just got this same error on a different v2.x version. Apparently this issue has been present since v1.2. https://mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=19820 https://mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=20273 The problem is not with a specific OS, PHP version, Mantis BT version, or any other such detail. The prob...

Re: New User Quick Reference documentation?

Ooooooooooo - you are so on top of all of those references. I'm impressed!
Definitely ambrosia, but while stuck on this planet the latte will have to do.

We have guests through next week and I'll have to publish the doc later next week. I hope that's OK.

Re: New User Quick Reference documentation?

My business is a one-man shop for the most part. I have many clients of different sizes with different needs. I have many colleagues around the world, and we collaborate on some projects. I've introduced MantisBT to my clients and colleagues, and everyone who gets started with it loves it after that...

This request got me thinking about a more global solution to this kind of customization.
Please see this proposal for a plugin and a new event type.

Proposal for Context-Sensitive CSS Plugin

In response to a challenge to customize the display of a specific field in the bug view, I was thinking about a more global solution. This is significant because it's a proposal to change the way most fields in the environment are displayed. Consider event hooks in all HTML-generating code which all...

Re: Extend rest api

I hear ya. My main work is with C# and Java too, so I stutter a bit when I get into PHP. I also did ASP in the 90's so we're on the same page. You'll notice that while I helped to create and administer this plugin section, I don't post code, for lack of expertise with PHP and lack of knowledge of th...

Access Denied to administrator

Running v2.21.0 over Linux with (I didn't install this) PHP v5.6.40. I have a private project. Users are two admins and two reporters. The project has been locked down so that reporters can only see their own posts. (That might be a clue.) A ticket was created by a reporter and of course set to New ...
